Rugby 6 Nations 2026
Share

It’s one of the most exciting sporting events in the diary (in our humble opinions) – the Six Nations is back and we’ll be cheering on our national team.

The Guinness Men’s Six Nations 2026 kicks off on Thursday 5 February with Ireland taking on France at the Stade de France in Paris. It’s the start of a fabulous sporting tournament that brings together the national teams and fans of Wales, Scotland, Ireland, England, France and Italy to compete in one of the greatest rugby competitions.

Known for its incredible atmosphere, passionate fans and great skill, the Six Nations is a must-watch for any rugby fan. Here we bring you an overview of what’s in store for the Welsh team over the coming weeks, as well as a few interesting facts.

When will Wales play first?

Our national team’s first match will take place on Saturday 7 February at 17.40 against England at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham, London. Tickets are currently on sale if you’re keen to go to the match to enjoy both the rugby and the incredible atmosphere that these games offer.

Wales has taken on England 143 times since they started competing at rugby union in 1881 – England has won 70 of these matches, Wales 61 matches and 12 matches have been drawn, so there’s a lot to play for!

The First Home Match

Wales will take on France at home on Sunday 15 February at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. It promises to be a great sporting spectacle and at their home ground we’re hoping Wales prove triumphant! Kick off for this match is scheduled for 16.10.

Wales has been playing France since 1908, with 105 matches played – both teams have won 51 matches, with the remaining matches drawn.

And later?

Saturday 21 February Wales are again playing at home in Cardiff – this time against Scotland. Looking back over the statistics of these two teams playing each other, Wales has won more matches but we’re sure Scotland will be looking for victory, particularly as since 2018 the winner of this match receives the Doddie Weir Cup.

On Friday 6 March, the Welsh team will head to Dublin to play Ireland for an evening match kicking off at 21.10 at the Aviva Stadium. If you’re thinking of heading to Dublin to watch, then you should be in for a great game. Historically, Wales has a stronger record – winning 70 matches of the 136 played, compared to 59 wins for Ireland, but we’re sure Ireland will be looking for success.

The final match for Wales takes place on Saturday 14 March back at the Principality Stadium, with kick-off at 17.40 against Italy. While there’s less history against Italy – the two teams only started playing against each other in 1994 – Italy will be out to win. Of the 34 matches the teams have played Wales has won 28, compared to Italy’s five and one drawn match.
