I was born in Cardigan hospital in 1977 and grew up in the village of Betws Ifan, which is located just a few miles from the coast, near the beautiful beaches of Penbryn, Aberporth and Tresaith.

This is a wonderful location to grow up in, it gave us the freedom as children to play on the beach and run around the fields and woodlands. Which sparked my continued interest in wildlife and our beautiful countryside. I loved fishing with my dad, and watching the otters and kingfishers (usually doing a lot better than me) and I looked forward to attending the agricultural shows in the area with my mum. We would love to show the Shetland ponies at the show, as my grandmother owned the Seva Shetland Pony Stud.

My father’s family have always lived in the area, while my mum’s family were relocated here after the war, and her step-father was stationed at the R.A.F base in Aberporth. I attended the local primary school at Glynarthen in the days when the class size was a maximum of six pupils, a close-knit and nurturing community. I then went to Newcastle Emlyn secondary school (which was considerably larger) and progressed to college in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.

After trying a few different jobs, from beauty therapy to working in a call centre, in 2005 I secured a job as a negotiator for an estate agent based in Cardigan and never looked back. I proceeded to work for the same company for over 18 years gaining local knowledge, qualifications, and years of experience, progressing to team leader running a head office and on to being the branch manager of a successful office in Cardigan.

I lived in Cardigan for many years and have recently moved back to the rural village of Betws Ifan with my husband, and this has enabled us to give our two daughters the freedom of growing up in the countryside. We have added three rescue kittens to our family and plan to expand our smallholding soon.
