Looking for something to brighten up the cold and wet days of February? Look no further than the 11th Lampeter Beer & Cider Festival!
Organized by Tan a Chwrw Cyf, a community interest company, this year’s event takes place on 28 February at the University of Wales Trinity St David, College Street, Lampeter. Taking place from 12 noon until 11pm, there’s plenty of time to enjoy the drinks and entertainment.
As the name suggests, this festival is dedicated to the best of beer and cider, with speciality beers, real ales and ciders from breweries across Wales. Beers that will be there for the tasting this year include Warrior from Evan Evans, Eyton Gold from Magic Dragon Brewing, Bedrock Blonde from Bluestone Brewing, and an alcohol free beer from Drop Bear Brewing – Yuzu.
Ciders available include a selection from cider maker Gwynt y Ddraig including Scrumpy, Black Dragon, Two Trees and Autumn Magic, as well as from other cider makers including Hallets with their PX cider, Pembrokeshire Cider’s Cromwell and Gethin’s Sych.
You can read the full list of beers and ciders being featured at this year’s festival here and there will also be beer hoppers available so visitors can take home two pints of their favourite beer.
Food & Entertainment
If you want to be sure you’re not drinking on an empty stomach then the festival isn’t going to leave you going hungry! There will be plenty of hot food, snacks and beverages provided by the University of Wales Trinity St David until 8pm.
Plus, anyone who has been to this festival in previous years will know that there’s some incredible musical talent performing throughout the afternoon and evening. The current musical line up hasn’t been confirmed as yet (as far as we know), but past acts have included Cariad, Sara Davies, Joe Seager and Côr Pam Lai.
Tickets start from just £5 for entry and a commemorative pint glass, with other tickets available that include drinks tokens. Find out more here.
We love local events such as these, it’s a great way to meet new people, support the community and celebrate all things Welsh! Maybe we’ll see you there!
