Cardigan Fair 2025

Feeling in need of something fun now that the clocks have gone back? Get ready for the annual Cardigan Fair, which this year will be held on 10 November.

Traditionally held on 10 November, except when the 10th falls on a Sunday, the Cardigan Fair history goes back to at least 1837! That’s the year that Queen Victoria came to the throne – so it has an incredible history.

Once a ‘hiring fair’ for local farm workers, it’s now a fun day out for all the family with a great choice of rides and stalls.

So, what’s in store this year? Well, according to recent reports Cardigan Town Council has been discussing reducing the cost for stallholders to try to encourage more people to come and take part in the event. This would be good news for crafts people and artisans, who will find it more affordable to display their creations at the event.

The council is also planning to arrange for more of the stalls to be set up around the perimeter of Cardigan Castle – as they would have been in the early days of the fair. The aim is to bring back more tradition, choice and fun to the fair and attract more visitors from not just the local area but also further afield.

The well-loved Studt’s Fun Fair will also be at the event, with a range of rides and attractions that so many families in the area love. Everything from bumper car rides and roller coasters to carousels and tea cups are available – although we’re waiting for final confirmation of the rides that will be in Cardigan.

There will also be plenty of food stalls selling everything from candy floss to welshcakes, as well as all manner of colourful stalls selling items such as hand made pottery, jewellery, woodcrafts and even Christmas decorations. It’s a great opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit!

With the market stalls up from around 12pm until midnight and the fun fair located in the main car park in the week leading up to the fair, it’s a very special day for all ages.

Why not come along and enjoy a fun day out with family and friends?
